Studios are being quick to build a universe around their franchise heroes. Marvel has already established themselves as pioneers of sorts to building a superhero franchise universe, while others like Sony and Warner Bros. have yet to prove themselves with their own universes. Fox though may have the next best thing with their X-Men universe, which is about to get a little bigger now that Deadpool is officially confirmed.
That's right, Deadpool will be a part of the X-Men film franchise. Shortly after it was announced that the character would be getting his own film, some of his fans were confused as to whether or not he will be a part of the X-Men universe. He was formally introduced in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. And while that may not have been the best film to introduce the character, Ryan Reynolds was probably one of the best things about the film. There was some speculation at first that Deadpool might be a reboot.
But now X-Men: Apocalypse screenwriter Simon Kinberg confirms that Deadpool is in fact a part of the X-Men film universe. Hit the jump for more. [...]
